First things first, the house is still standing and was not (knock on wood) subject to the softball sized hail or tornados that threatened us yesterday. Maybe its because we were fully prepared to weather it out in my closet. Not only did I make sure that we all had running shoes, boots and helmets in there just in case, but I actually cleaned my closet. As in spent an hour plus hanging all of the clothes that I'd just thrown on the floor over the last few weeks, ahem, months.
Anyways, I digress. It's Wednesday, so time for Welcome Home Wednesday.
With guests in, we haven't done anything on the inside other than clean, clean, clean. Thankfully, though, despite the weather, there has been significant progress to date on the outside
The addition (new media room) and covered patio are fully framed and even have shingle roofs.
The firebox has been installed in the fireplace. I cannot wait for our first fire.
The media room has been wired for electrical, cabling and the HVAC system has been extended.
So definitely moving along. On tap for today and the rest of the week is: the pergola is finally starting, the brick should arrive and possibly be installed and we should hopefully have the inspection. Maybe I am wrong, but I feel like a lot of the heavy lifting has been done and that once we get the thumbs up from the city, we'll be able to knock out the rest in no time. Not likely, but a girl can dream, right?
It's looking great. I can't wait to see the finished product.
