I need a rest

Monday, April 18, 2016

yes, its Monday morning and I should feel refreshed from the weekend.  However, unfortunately, the Husband was sick with a nasty big, which meant that I was solo parent for virtually the entire weekend.

This momma is tired.  But the girls and I sure did have fun.

Saturday morning was a fun-filled morning that consisted of:

 Einstein bagels breakfast date

Gymnastics

Nebraska Furniture Mart (to get Little Miss a full size bed)
Giving their approval on whether the mattress was comfy enough.  Two (or should I say four) thumbs up.

Hide and seek in a bookshelf.  Sure why not?

What do you mean this bed isn't for gymnastics?!?!

Sanity.  Finally got my hands on a cart and the only way I could contain them.

And Jason's Deli for lunch.  And yes, we did have two servings of ice cream.  At this point, it was warranted. Don't judge.

The biggest hit of the weekend had to be our first Geo-Caching adventure.  If you haven't tried it, download the app and get hunting.  Momma may have liked it even more than the girls.  But even so, they had fun both before and during.

We struck out at the first location (I may have per-emptively called when I thought I saw a snack, which was probably just a twig).  Little Miss was definitely disappointed.

But we were successful at the second location (it may have helped that I figured out that people leave notes and pictures as to the location)-- even though we had a small scare after we smelled a skunk.

The only disappointment was that there really wasn't a "treasure" for us to exchange.  Try explaining that to a four year old.

We did plan on going back to location number one on Sunday...but Mother Nature had other plans in the form of lots, and lots, of rain.

So we ran errands, hung out around the house, Little Miss and I finally saw Zootopia, played in the rain puddles and went on a lizard hunt on our patio.  This may be Wrigley's favorite past time as of late.

And I am guessing that I am not the only one who was tired...both Littles were lights out asleep BEFORE 7 PM.  So thankfully, momma got some rest, just not enough.

How was your weekend?

  1. Sounds like a fun weekend. My MIL took the kids to geocache on Saturday. They were unsuccessful in finding anything, but they had fun trying. I can't wait to get some free time to go with them. It looks like so much fun.
