Welcome Home Wednesday

So in some senses, its been a pretty slow week around the house.  I haven't had much of a chance to work on any of the interior projects, and this week as been all about the inspection, so it seems as though not much has gotten done outside.

However, fingers crossed that's all about to change as on Monday we passed the big inspection with flying colors.  And as I type this right now, the subsequent inspection is going on -- inspecting the insulation that was sprayed yesterday...so fingers crossed that we pass this because afterwards, I think we are done with inspections and should have a pretty clear path to finishing out this project.

Despite the inspections, there has still been progress since last week.  Namely, the pergola got finished.

And in prepration of the mother-inspection, they re-engineered the support beams for the additional room/outdoor living area.  At first I was not happy with the 24 inch posts (especially after getting use to the cedar posts), but at the end of the day, they were necessary to pass inspection and withstand the winds that whip through our yard.  Plus, after some reconfiguring of my planned furniture layout, i think I may actually like them.  See below.  Knock on wood

Lastly, as mentioned above, they finished the spray foam in the new media room.

So assuming all goes well today, they should be able to start all of the finishing work inside (drywall, baseboards, speakers, carpet, lights) and start the masionry work outside.

Fingers crossed they can get it done by May 21st as I'd like to break in our new patio for a belated bday celebration.
