Each week, the girls school changes the "theme of the week." This week the theme is Young Child. Accordingly to the weekly note that we get from the school, the Week of the Young Child is an annual celebration sponsored by NAEYC (whatever that is!) to raise awareness and advocacy surrounding the importance of early childhood programs and services. Anywho...
...as part of this week's planned activity, Little Miss's class drew themselves and discussed what they want to be when they grow up. Little Miss says she wants to be a Mommy!
And one day, she will make a great mommy (and according to her, she will then have a brother since I won't give her one now), but part of me wants more for her. Is that bad? Part of why I work is to be an examples for my girls -- that you can be a mommy and whatever else you want to be. Its not an either or situation. I know that she's only 4, but still!
On the other hand, because Littlest Miss can't quite decipher or communicate what she wants to be when she grows up, her teachers took a stab at it based on her in classroom activities. So according to them, she'll be a:
yup, dance teacher. Not sure that's what I would have picked, but girlfriend does love to dance. Especially the silly dance. If I had to guess right now, I'd guess a vet as there is definitely a special spot in her heart for animals.
What about you, what do your kids want to be? I am curious to see how this changes from year to year!
I've asked Jackson that question and it's always something different. Ha.
ReplyDeleteHa ha! Reese is always a mommy. Although one day she did say, whatever your do all day to which I replied I am an accountant. So then she wanted to be an accountant as well. Ha! Kids!
ReplyDeleteKeaton wants to be Spiderman so I think I'll ask again in a year or so. _Teresa
