Girls Weekend (Aka Mommies with No Kids)

Monday, April 4, 2016

This past weekend, a few of us mommas said goodbye to the husbands and kids and headed down to Austin and the Hill Country for a much needed Girls Weekend.  It was a great weekend just relaxing and spending time with other chicas who understand daily life.  But don't get me wrong. Despite all the fun that I had, I missed my family tremendously and in some senses the little break did make me a better mommy.

So here's a quick summary of our weekend:

Friday

Drove to Austin and stopped here:

And bought these:

Once in Austin, we filled our bellies with yummy food from here:

And then spent some much needed time with my friend N, who lives entirely too far away.  And by much needed time, somehow us to mommas shut the hotel bar down until 1:30 AM.   Whoop!

Saturday

We woke up and got on a bus:

To drink wine at these three wineries:

William Chris

Compass Rose

Lewis Wines

And somehow, we were still standing when we got back, so we grabbed delicious pizza at the Back Space, had drinks on the rooftop:

And then headed to 6th Street.

Granted, we were in bed by 10, and then laughed our booties off at the preview of the new show The Detour.  (Seriously, I haven't laughed that hard at a sitcom in for.ev.er.  My DVR is already set for its premier on April 11th!)

Sunday

We grabbed a quick brunch, loaded up the car, and headed home to this:

Which may have been the best part of the weekend.

And don't worry...the littles and daddy had fun while mommy was away!  more on that tomorrow!
