Don't get me wrong. This weekend was a lot of fun and jam packed with things to do. But this momma is tired. And needs a nap. Or maybe several. And its only Monday. Talk about long week ahead...
...however, having said that, I definitely can't complain about the weekend.
Friday
Saturday
- The morning was spent with Auntie Kori who was in town from Houston. Reese loved having her there. Lots of selfies were taken:
Breakfast was eaten. A house tour was given. Gymnastics classes watched. And lots of books read.
i think by time Kori left at about noon, everyone (adults included) were all ready for naps! It was so great to spend time with Kori and we can't wait to see the rest of the Houston family in just two weeks for Easter.
- That afternoon I attended a shower for my sweet friend Erin (check out her blog here) who is expecting her first baby boy at the end of May. So great to hang out with old friends and meet new friends (and lots of pregnant ones at that!). I can't wait for the arrival of her little one!
- After racing home from the shower, it was off to our old neighbor's house for a low key evening of hanging out, letting the kids play, and making pizzas on the grill.
It was exactly what we needed to top off our Saturday. Makes us realize how much we miss our friends from our old neighborhood and makes us even that more excited to move into our new house...as we'll be less than a mile away from them!
Sunday
- Talk about ultimate relaxation day for two out of the three (or four) of us. Husband took to naps and I don't think he ever actually changed out of pajamas. After sleeping in until 8:30, we spent the morning lounging around, watching the live stream of church, and watching Frozen (I think we collectively watched the entire movie 3 times throughout the day!).
- I had another shower to attend for another friend due at the end of May. Can't complain about all the babies, or the yummy brunch that I had here:
- After the shower, I spent the day running errands (by myself!) and getting ready for the week.
- And we concluded the weekend with family dinner, more frozen, bathtime and more laziness. No complaints here.
Oh and I almost forgot! Somehow, part of our lazy Sunday included Adventures in Potty Training # 185094890. Only this time, we actually had some success. Throughout the day, Little Miss successfully peed on the big potty -- get this -- not once, but twice!!! And only had once accident.
Now I am just in search of the next weekend on the calendar where we have no plans and we can actually spend the weekend mastering the art of potty training. My only concern...between now and the arrival of littlest miss, such a weekend doesn't exist!
It was so great to see you on Saturday!! I'm so glad you (and littlest miss) could come!
