Five on Friday: Gender Reveal

For Little Miss, we did have a gender reveal party.  However, because not all of the grandparents to be could make it to the party, we found out at our 20 week appointment so that we could order the out-of-towners a cake just like the one at the actual party.  And given my super-type-A personality, I just couldn't trust that someone, other than me, could call a bakery out of town and explain exactly what we wanted. Thus, the husband and I knew and had the grandparents-to-be who were able to make it cut the cake.  Because of the layer of chocolate cake, many people guessed boy because it gave off a blue-ish tint through the frosting...boy were they wrong!

So needless to say, in the spirit of not jipping # 2, we are going to do a fun gender reveal this time around.  Only the husband and I will not find out at the appointment (unless he figures it out based soley on the sonogram!).  Rather, we will meet up with our photographer the following Saturday and do a fun photo shoot reveal.

And although we already know which reveal type we are going to do, since its Friday, and time for 5 on Friday, I figured I'd throw out five of the options that either we considered or I randomly found on pinterest.

The only ones I seriously considered were # 1, 2, and 3 and to be honest I actually didn't even know # 5 existed until I was looking for a fifth item for today's topic...Ultimately, we deciding on doing option # 1 for a couple of reasons.  One, it seems to be the cleanest option.  Because we are utilizing one of our mini sessions from our photography package for baby # 2, I am hopeful that we'll get some good pics of the three of us that can adorn our wall.  Two, little miss loves balloons and hates being messy.  Thus, hopefully, she'll stay in a good mood through out the mini session, which given that she's two, isn't a given.  And three, the end pictures are just my favorite.  Now Saturday February 8th just has to hurry up and get here!
