Baby 2.0 Week 19

Thursday, January 30, 2014

Everytime I think that this pregnancy slows down, it's Thursday, which means another week has gone by and we are one week closer to meeting Baby 2.0.   I am officially 19 weeks along (due June 26, 2014).  I have a feeling June will be here before we know it.  And if this Baby is anything like little miss, they'll want to make their appearance before their actual due date.

Size of Baby: (According to babycenter.comYour baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the size of an heirloom tomato. Her arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of her body now. Her kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on her scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on her skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Based on my scale at home this morning, I am now at break even, which is a good thing I am guessing.  Hopefully, this slow weight gain means that the excess pounds will just melt off at the end since I've heard its much harder with # 2??

Maternity Clothes: I probably should be in all maternity pants right now, or at least use the belly band.  But every once and awhile I decide that regular pants will do.  Let's just say Monday was not comfortable!  Normal shirts, normal dresses.

Gender: Based on symptoms, I think girl.  But something is telling me boy.  So basically I am confused!  Just over a week to go.

Movement: We've got a squirmer.  Thankfully, no strong kicks or jabs.  Yet.  If our last doctor appointment was any indications, I'll be feeling those swift kicks sooner rather than later.

Food Cravings:  None really.  Moreso, I am just excited that most food finally sounds somewhat appealing.

What I miss: Not much really.  I would say wine, but I had a half glass last night...so yummy!

Sleep:  No issues falling asleep.  Occasionally, wake up in the middle of the night, but can generally go back to sleep.  Cannot get up in the AM for the life of me.

Symptoms: Just the bump, which is slowly starting to look like a bump and not that I've just been getting fat.

Best Moment this week:  Feeling all the squirming.  Love knowing that baby is happy in there.  Also, can't complain about my energy level.  I've actually gotten in several good runs this past week too.  Working out makes me happy.

What I am looking forward to: Our next doctor appointment and the big gender reveal.  I hate, hate, hate not knowing!
