...but Little Miss is definitely moving right along with gymnastics. For those that don't remember, back in October, we were invited to have her join the pre-team at Texas Dreams gymnastics. Both the husband and I struggled with what to do, but after a week of trial classes, it was clear that pre-team was such a better fit for her personality than the regular recreational programs. So January 1st, we officially started on pre-team.
And as a mom, and not even just a former gymnast, I cannot even begin to say how impressed I am with this little girl. Clearly, in just the two months since she's moved up, she's gotten stronger and better at gymnastics.
When she started, she couldn't even get two feet up the rope. Now look at her.
At the same time, she's really grown to love it. No matter where we are at she's doing gymnastics of some kind. Ropes become bars, curbs become balance beams, everything ends with a ta-da!
But probably most importantly, the impact that its had on her confidence is amazing. As much as we've always said she was a little dare devil, she was a calculated dare devil. There were things that she would want to do, but ultimately would be scared to do. For example, the spider web at the park. Maybe it was because she was young, but may be not as many of her "older" "tougher" friends still eon't touch it. However, this past Saturday, she climbed right up and tried.
And had fun doing so!
So no matter where this adventure takes her, I am excited about all of the life lessons and skills she'll learn along the way.
