Wishing today was still the weekend...

...especially given that its Martin Luther King day and, as evidenced by (a) the lack of cars on the drive in and (b) that my normal Starbucks was closed today (say, what!).  But poor old me is back in the office.  Thankfully, we had a nice, and fairly relaxing weekend, so its not too terrible...

Friday Night

- As planned Reese and I went to the Kim Zmeskal Texas Prime Meet.  I didn't get a ton of pictures because my phone died, but little miss loved it.  I had hoped it would have entertained her for at least 45 minutes, and much to my surprise after an hour and a half she was still watching and/or dancing around on the bleachers to the floor music.  Ever since, whenever I pull out my phone, she quickly says "i watch gymnastics."  And will literally sit there for as long as we'll let her just watching away.  Needless to say, as soon as the husband gives us the go-ahead, I want to put her in real gymnastics.  Here is a the only photo that I got of her watching:

Saturday
So even though the overall weekend was relaxing, Saturday was far from it.  We seriously bounced from one activity to the next, but had a blast all day long.

- The morning was fairly typical -- Little Gym followed by post class apple juice and treats with her classmates.  Not only do I love Little Gym, but I love the little tradition that we seem to be establishing.  Like most weeks, the treat of the week was a cake pop, only sadly, they didn't have any birthday cake pops left, so we had to try the lemon one.  Not nearly as big of a success.

- Little Gym was followed by a long family walk, which included stops at 3 different playgrounds, a quick lunch, and then nap time for Reese Roo, working time for the husband and a much needed mani/pedi for me.

- After everyone was ready to go, we then piled back into the car and headed back to Little Gym for our old  neighbor's 2nd birthday party.  So much fun.  We hosted Reese's there back in November and not only do they do a great job, but the kids have a blast and its so not stressful for the parents to plan.

- The last part of the day consisted of date night.  First stop was happy hour for a co-worker, followed by dinner at Blue Fish Sushi. Both the husband and I consumed way too much sushi, but it was soooooo good.  And more importantly, it was so great just to have some quality time with just the two of us out in public and away from little miss, and mr. wrigley.  However, as much fun as we had, we knew we were getting old, when we could barely keep our eyes open after dinner and were both in bed by 10:30 PM on Saturday night...it doesn't seem like that long ago that our nights where just starting then.  Boy have times changed!

Sunday

Basically, this day can be summed up in one word:  relaxation!

- Until noon or so, it was unofficial pajama day in our house.  The husband literally slept, while Reese and I lounged around, painted, watched HGTV, watched the live stream from Church, played with her kitchen and watched gymnastics.  After lunch, it was naptime for the entire family!  Naps may just be one of my most favorite things ever!

- Once we were up and at them at 3:45 PM, it was time to start our day.  A quick run to the grocery store, a stop at Costco, and then dinner time.  Although not overly exciting, I love knowing that we are all prepared for the week.  Especially since it's just me and little miss until late Tuesday night.  Also, I actually menu planned and made a shopping list for the first time in weeks.  And let me tell you -- it makes shopping so much more enjoyable! Here's what's on tap for this week

Sunday: Turkey Sloppy Joes
recipe found here

PS - we had this last night.  So good and so easy.

Monday: Grilled Cheese

Tuesday:  Open - we'll either eat leftovers or maybe go out for a mommy/daughter dinner date

Wednesday: Crockpot Jumbalaya

Thursday: One pot pasta with grilled shrimp

Friday: TBD (I actually never plan for a Friday or Saturday meal as it tends to go to waste)

- And that pretty much sums up our weekend.  Little miss had a bath, books, and bed.  The husband cleaned up the house, worked a bit, and packed for this week's trip, and I went on a run, cleaned up the house and watched Revenge, which by the way, I cannot figure out if I still like this show or am bored with it.  For most of the episode, I am bored and tempted to turn it off, and then something will happen, and I am hooked again.

Alright, probably should get back to work.  Have a great week!
