Baby 2.0 - Week 18

Thursday, January 23, 2014

Another week has flown by!  Baby 2.0 is now 18 weeks along (due June 26, 2014), which means that I only have 20 weeks (or less) of work.  Not that I am counting down or anything.

Size of Baby: (According to babycenter.comHead to rump, your baby is about 5 1/2 inches long, and he weighs almost 7 ounces (about the size of a bell pepper). He's busy flexing his arms and legs — movements that you'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Based on my scale at home this morning, I am still down a pound or two.  Although my appetite is slowly returning, as is my energy and I am actually looking forward to working out each day.  However, at some point, I am guessing that I'll have start gaining weight, right?

Maternity Clothes: Depends.  About half of my pants I can still wear, but the other half require a belly band.  All non-maternity tops and dresses though.

Gender: I have no clue, but if we base it on the wives tale that if the husband gains sympathy weight its a girl, then its another little girl.  Little miss has finally started answering the question if its a brother or a sister and her resounding answer is "seeeestah."

Movement: Still flutters.  If our last doctor appointment was any indications, I'll be feeling those swift kicks sooner rather than later.

Food Cravings:  None really.  Still eat cheese pizza for a majority of meals and my default sweet treat each nigh has changed from ice cream to sherbert.

What I miss: Not much really.  Okay, enjoying a really good glass of wine.

Sleep:  No issues falling asleep.  Occasionally, wake up in the middle of the night, but can generally go back to sleep.  Cannot get up in the AM for the life of me.

Symptoms: Just the bump, which is slowly starting to look like a bump and not that I've just been getting fat.

Best Moment this week:  Little miss holding up the doppler and asking to hear baby.  The thought of two being besties melts my heart.

What I am looking forward to: Our next doctor appointment and the big gender reveal.  I hate, hate, hate not knowing!
