Baby 2.0 - 17 weeks

Thursday, January 16, 2014

Since finding out we were expecting # 2, I've sworn up and down that Baby 2.0 wouldn't get jipped.  Boy was I wrong...17 weeks and my first blog post.  And we've missed most weekly pictures despite buying the belly stickers right away.  Oh well.  Here's to no more jipping...

Size of Baby: (According to babycenter.com)  Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: At my 16 week appointment, I was still down a pound from my first appointment.  I attribute it to my lack of appetite, bouts of nauseousness, inability to increase wine, and focusing on getting enough exercise/10,000+ steps day.  My guess is that the weight gain will quickly become "normal" from here on out.
Maternity Clothes: Nope.  Very few.  Even pants.  Although, I did try to put on regular pants yesterday and quickly added the Belly Band.

Gender: The big question!  We'll have the big sono in 3 weeks, but won't find out until that Saturday as we going go to do some kind of "fun" reveal with our photographer.  Oh the anticipation!  In terms of what I am thinking, who knows.  I was thinking girl, but there is something in the last few days that makes me think boy!

Movement: I've felt some flutters.  Ahhh.  Love movement, can't wait for more.  Well, maybe not those painful kicks and jabs.

Food Cravings: None.  Although my default food is cheese pizza.  Slowly being able to stomach meat again

What I miss: Wine, energy and feeling good.  Although I think I am turning a corner on the last two.

Sleep: Cannot.get.enough.

Symptoms: Just the bump, which is slowly starting to look like a bump and not that I've just been getting fat.

Best Moment this week: I finally heard Baby's heartbeat on our at home doppler.  Swoon.

What I am looking forward to: Knowing what we are having.  Even though we won't have a house for much (if any) of this pregnancy, I just love knowing if its a boy or girl so that I can seriously start picking out a name and decorating the nursery.
