Littlest Miss - Week 35

Friday, May 23, 2014

So technically, we are 35 weeks and 1 day.  And given how this week has gone, its only fitting that today's picture was taken in the bathroom at Starbucks.  At least it was private.  My other option was the bathroom at work -- and if I'd done that, my luck would have been that 800 people decided to pee at that exact moment and then looked at me strangely.

Size of BabyYour baby doesn't have much room to maneuver now that he's over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (about the size of a honeydew melon). Because it's so snug in your womb, he isn't likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times he kicks should remain about the same. His kidneys are fully developed now, and his liver can process some waste products. Most of his basic physical development is now complete — he'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: At my 34 week appointment, I was up just under 10 lbs.  Thus, if I had to guess, I am probably up another pound or so this week given that baby is apparently gaining 0.5 lbs per week.

Maternity Clothes: Ugh, I have no cloths.  Thankfully, I am in single digits of work days, so somehow I'll make it work -- pretty impressive given that I only bought one pair of maternity pants, a pair of maternity jeans, two dresses and a handful of tops.  Cannot wait to have my full closet back at my disposal.  Although who am I joking, I'll be living in yoga gear for the next four months or so.

Gender: More pink and tu-tus.  Another sweet baby GIRL!

Movement:  Still moving all the time.  Although I can tell she's running out of room.  I did get confirmation last Saturday that she's in the perfect position.  Let's hope she stays that way.  No sunny side up babies this time, please!

Food Cravings:  Not much honestly.

What I miss: Nothing major.  However, if I had to list something, I would say wine, energy and being pain free.

Sleep: Still cannot get enough.  I've been averaging 8+ hours of dead-to-the-world sleep, and still wake up exhausted.  Thankfully, if I wake up in the middle of the night, I end up going right back to sleep.

Symptoms: Ugh, back pain almost all the time.  BH contractions if I sit to long.  But otherwise nothing -- wedding rings still on and loose!

Best Moment this week:  Finding out she is head down still.

What I am looking forward to:  My sprinkle.  Moving into the new house hopefully before her arrival.  Locating all necessary baby stuff.  And of course, meeting her!  (Let's just hope she stays cooking past 36 weeks 2 days as husband is doing an overnight trip to Indy to prepare our rental for new tenants next weekend!)
